1. Yes the CNA has a built in PID algorithm. The user can configure the various coefficients to define the response of the control loop. Typical applications include the use of a Hall probe to maintain a constant magnetic field in an electromagnet. The 0-10V outputs from the CNA module can be used to drive the power supply to the magnet. Any analogue signal can be used to provide the input parameter for the PID loop, meaning that PID control can be applied to almost any system be it temperature, power or position information.
