Is there a maximum level of effort that can be charged to sponsored projects?

0

Your effort directly charged to sponsored projects should be consistent with your actual effort devoted to these projects. Generally, your effort on sponsored projects should not be 100% if you also perform other University activities such as teaching, services, administration, or writing new grant proposals.

The rules do not limit the percentage of effort that can be charged to sponsored projects; however, the effort charged to each project must be consistent with the level of effort to be devoted to that project. There is a minimum level of effort for PIs: PI effort on a sponsored project must be greater than 0%.
