Is there a male-female, demographic, and/or racial breakdown to the disease?
• A report from the US Department of Health, Education and Welfare reported psoriasis was found “slightly more frequently among males (6.3 per 1,000) than females (5.3 per 1.000)…” and “…lowest among children 6-11 years and adults 18-44 year of age (less than 2 per 1,000), and highest among adults 45-74 years (11-12 per 1,000).” NPF reports that as many as 7.5 million Americans, or approximately 2.2% of the population, have psoriasis.
