Is there a keypad lock for the outside buttons?

Yes. It is called Auto Keyguard and can be found in Menu/Settings/Setup&Others/Auto Keyguard; you can either disable or enable it. To unlock the keys, you must hold in the Play/Pause button; it takes maybe 2 seconds to unlock the keys.
