Is there a job out there filming animals for a living?

Zoologists study animals for a living, and as part of that study would often film the animals. I think you’d find that wildlife documentaries are often filmed by the same camera operators who film other sorts of documentaries. There are certainly photographers who earn a living exclusively from animals though. If you intend to work on a documentary in any capacity then you’ll have to be able to work in a group. As for education, if you want to focus on the scientific side then of course you’ll need to go to university. For something like wildlife photography the requirements would be less formal, but some post-secondary education in photography would certainly be advisable. Of course it’s all moot since global warming will kill all the animals pretty soon anyway.
