Is there a high probability that the Phoenix Coyotes can thrive with new ownership?
McCullough: We are coming at this from a totally different perspective than a traditional owner-operator model. We are well versed in local finance. We come at it with a clean slate and an open mind in terms of cost structure and business perspective. The losses of 2009 are water under the bridge. Our goal is to have this team break even from day one. It appears the Coyotes are competitive but lack a big-name scorer. Will your ownership group spend to get that scorer? McCullough: Definitely. We have two ex-hockey players on our management team, guys who weren’t good enough to make the NHL. But we are very aware about the hockey perspective in terms of needs and wants. We are also very aware of the right price to pay for the right player. If you look at the team, it’s crystal clear what the team needs.
