Is there a group of plaintiffs trial lawyers who do qui tam cases?
RASPANTI: There is such a group. We do try and meet a few times a year when possible. We try and stay in touch with each other. We try and share legal theories and ideas. CCR: Is there an organization of these lawyers? RASPANTI: No, but there is an excellent non-profit group in Washington, D.C. called Taxpayers Against Fraud. They assist plaintiffs, and educate the bar and public generally about the False Claims Act cases. It is the only organization of its kind. We sometimes meet with them. CCR: Phillilps & Cohen is the beast on the block. How much of the business does John Phillips have? RASPANTI: John Phillips is a pioneer in the qui tam bar. He and his firm has done great work in this field and should be commended for all their efforts. I have worked closely with them in the past.
