Is there a great deal of “Cattiness” and “Putting down” of fellow-students in American High-schools?
It starts long before High School. In day cares you will see cliques forming and we are such well taught little robots. If a girl is playing with a truck they will take it give it a boy and give the girl a doll, same thing for boys, if a boy happens to be playing with a something not to their gender specific they will have it taken away and encouraged to play with a ball or a car. As for the cattiness that is taught there too. A child will come in and the caregivers say, “Oh isn’t she pretty, or isn’t she dressed pretty”. That then starts the others to cluster to that child. They want to be with the pretty one so that they will feel pretty too. It causes them to be aware that there are other kids that don’t “fit” into the pretty group. One of the caregivers may say something as simple as boy is so-and-ao’s mother is a strange woman. Translate that to a child and you get I don’t want to play with whoever because there is something wrong with her mother. In no time you have this little c
