Is there a grace period for EMT certification prior to Expiration Term of Service (ETS)?

0

No. Soldiers must maintain NREMT certification (and thus MOS qualification) until ETS. This ensures soldier availability in case of wartime or contingency deployment. Additionally, the NREMT does not allow a grace period beyond 31 March of the year of expiration. Because of the exigencies of military service however, with a favorable recommendation from the EMT Medical Director at the AMEDDC&S, the NREMT is willing to grant extensions on a case-by-case basis. Requests for extension must be approved by the NREMT prior to 31 March of the reregistration year.
