The Department of Linguistics and Cognitive Science has developed a First Year Experience (FYE), CGSC 100, for those Freshmen students who declare the Cognitive Science Interest Major. Offered every Fall semester, this eight-week, one-credit course provides a general introduction to Cognitive Science and describes the interdisciplinary nature of the field. Appropriate University personnel will speak about UD and student resources available. Additional segments in the FYE are taught by different Cognitive Science faculty members, so students early on will meet and interact with instructors with whom they may not currently have classes. The Director of Undergraduate studies will offer a session on advisement as well.
