Although there are Internet-based lists of expert witnesses and published lists of expert witnesses in a wide variety of fields, sometimes the best way to start is word of mouth. Ask your friends in the medical community who is a good expert witness on whatever topic you’re looking for. The reason I suggest speaking with friends first is that your friends will help you weed out some of the experts who look good on paper but would make lousy witnesses.
