Is there a drug problem surrounding the bar scene in Thailand?
Many bar girls are fond of drugs and they are readily available amongst the bar girl community but also highly illegal – possession of only 5 Yaba tablets will get you 5 years behind bars and that is not pleasant in Thailand. Drugs play a large part in another aspect of the bar girl profession – stealing. Now not all bar girls are thieves but there are a select few who are known to get so high that they will steal from the customer at all costs. These girls usually get caught and there are regular pictures of these girls displayed at hotel lobbies around Pattaya stating that the girl cannot be trusted and that she is barred from the hotel but you should exercise caution.
