Is there a dog sedative that will stop itches?
Not really. Benadryl can be somewhat effective, but it does not work on all dogs, and does not offer complete relief. A product that does offer excellent relief is made by EQyss. Their Micro-Tek Shampoo, and Micro-Tek Spray (for use between baths) are highly effective, and work better than anything else I’ve ever tried. It helps heal hot spots, and can be used on open wounds without stinging or pain (I’ve tested it on myself, so I know this to be true). It’s important to determine why your dog is itching. Dry skin, or allergies (food allergies, or contact dermatitis, or respiratory allergies, even fleas) could be the cause. You will want to stay away from dog food containing grains and corn, and try an allergy formula (like fish and sweet potato or venison and sweet potato, duck, rabbit, and so on).
