Is there a difference in bare root and air pruned planting times?
Yes, bare root trees can not be “lifted” (taken out of the ground) until winter when the plants become dormant, and must be planted in winter while seedlings are still in the dormant stage. Air pruned seedlings offer an increased window of planting time but best results will occur if planted in the fall, this allows for maximum root development before flushing in the spring.
