Is there a difference between takoyaki flour and okonomiyaki flour?

0

They are interchangeable, I ama former chef from Canada and worked in Japan,I get it up here in Toronto ON and also use the small rice crackers, for my takoyaki, I cook mine in a stove top pancake puff pan, for okonomiyaki the takoyaki flour is fine, even just plain rice flour if you can find it, I use Vietnamese ones here. The other person is correct, but it is not a common product, and in Japan they used some wheat flour, rice flour and cornstarch for Takoyaki, and while the okonomiyaki flour in packages is different, they can be used for the same dishes, if you want 2 flours by all means buy them, I have made both with the same flour and not seen the difference, and I had both when I worked at a hotel in Tokyo back in the 1980’s once or twice a week sometimes, takoyaki is a street food and the other is a common restaurant dish, I had it or rice with natto and the accompinements for breakfast or as a late night snack shared with friends in small place at midnight.
