Is there a difference between Standard Shingles and Architectural Shingles?
Architectural Shingles not only do not cost much more than Standard ones, but they usually have a longer warranty. They are also cosmetically appealing. However, if you cannot see much of your roof when standing in your yard, you may just settle for a 30 or 35 year tab shingle. You might also consider shingles that contain bits of zinc and other metals that will help prevent the growth of mold, algae and lichen.
