Is there a difference between public and private schools in the terms of achievement?

Solely in terms of academic achievement, private schools are usually ahead of public schools, and homeschoolers are typically ahead of private schools. It has to do with parental involvement and individualized instruction – when students are given both in high doses, they tend to achieve better results. This isn’t true across the board, of course; there are public school students who achieve amazing results, and there are private and homeschooled students who achieve nominal results. On average though, that’s pretty much how it works.
