Is there a difference between Gastroesophageal reflux and ulcer?
Yes there is a vast difference between having gastroesophageal reflux and having an ulcer. Gastroesophageal reflux means the contents of your stomach (mainly after you eat) go back up the esophagus and cause irritation of the esophagus, causing pain and discomfort. Long term it can cause serious damage of the esophagus and be extremely painful. Having an ulcer means there is a definite erosion in the stomach lining.
