Is there a difference between canceling an auction and ending an auction early?

There is a substantial difference between the two. If an auction is canceled, the “seller”, for whatever reason, is no longer offering the item for sale. Canceling an auction nullifies any and all bids and the “seller” gives up any and all rights to monetary compensation for that item. Ending and auction early means that, for whatever reason, the “seller” has chosen to accept the bid at that time. Ending an auction early may result in the “seller” losing out on a higher final value. For the benefit of the “seller”, this practice is not recommended.
