Is there a difference between being “laid off” or “fired”?
Laid off can mean that the termination wasn’t necessarily made due to your error, such as lack of funding for the staff wage or an incident in which you were involved but not as an instigator, but still caused a risk to yourself or others or the companies reputation, however there is a fine line between that one and beong fired in which you have clearly done something wrong in order to have your employment terminated.
