Federal legislation does not require tutors or teachers who provide academic enrichment or tutorial services under the 21st CCLC Program to have specific qualifications. However, specific paraprofessional qualifications do apply to LEA employees with instructional duties in 21st CCLC Programs that (1) share funding with Title I-funded programs; and/or (2) are part of the Title I schoolwide program. The paraprofessional requirements for staff hired by an LEA do not apply if the after-school program (1) is not funded with Title I funds; and/or (2) is not part of the Title I schoolwide program.
