Is there a difference between a non profit organization and a nonprofit foundation?
Answer Hi, Sandra, thanks for the question. A nonprofit organization is generally set-up to administer and coordinate state and/or federal funded projects and programs for communities, counties and districts. These projects and programs usually are to support economic development such as business expansion and industrial parks. A nonprofit foundation is generally responsible for administering and distributing funds for worthy or even specified causes in communites, counties, etc. These causes can range from charitable gifts to supporting cancer research to helping fund community parks. In both cases, neither the organization nor the foundation can make a profit from the funds they receive and administer.
