Is there a deskstop DVD reader which is compatible with Divx?
There first one was called Kiss DVD Player DP-450. Starting from summer 2003, a few more deskstop DVD readers compatible with Divx formats have become available, and sometimes they are even compatible with Xvid. In the largest part of cases all the codeds can be updated (and rightly so, otherwise you coulnd’t see any of the new dvix or Xvid codec!) The price of these DVD readers is higher than vanilla DVD readers; however, the benefit is that you could watch the Divx on your TV… Here there is a page with some hints about Divx readers. The other solution (fort hose who already possess a DVD reader and do do wish to buy a new one) is, as already mentioned, converting the files into VCD. 5) The quality of Divx I am watching is terrible (or the audio is terrible with high background noise) I am afraid that in this case you have simply stambled across a very poor quality video which, almost certainly, has come from a divx screener.
