Is there a deadline for submitting CERA claims?

0

Claims for expenses for mass transit and/or parking that are incurred in the current calendar year may be submitted up until January 31 of the following calendar year. Any funds remaining in your account at year end can only roll over into your account for the following year if you continue your participation in CERA. If you do not have a mass transit or parking account for the following calendar year and you don’t file a claim by January 31, your balance will be held over into the next calendar year but you must claim those funds by December 31 of that following year, or the funds will be forfeited. [For example, if you had a CERA account in 2007 and did not continue to participate in the CERA program in 2008, any remaining balance from 2007 would have to be claimed by December 31, 2008, or it will be forfeited].
