Yes there is. There is a flat $15 on all new cars sold in Cook county. It rises to $22.50 if the vehicle is an SUV/Truck. It does not apply to Used Cars. It is applied on any vehicle sold within Cook County, but the suburban collar county/city tax rate will also be applied.
