Is there a convenience fee for using the E-Payment service?

Yes. Pemberton Township has contracted with Point & Pay to provide a secure payment portal to accept and process credit cards, debit cards and e-checks using three payment channels: Internet, phone, and over the counter. This portal provides a common interface for electronic transactions while relieving the municipal budget and individual Township departments of the expense of establishing the complicated and expensive security infrastructure necessary for such payments. The State of New Jersey allows for a convenience fee to be charged (N.J.A.C. 5:30-9.9) to cover the operating costs associated with E-Payment services. The convenience fees associated with Pemberton Township’s E-Payment service goes to Point & Pay, and Pemberton Township does not retain any portion of the charge.
