Yes it could be. Untreated reflux can cause coughing and asthma attacks (not the asthma itself). Croup is an irritation of the upper airways -if a person is aspirating stomach contents it would irritate the upper airway. You should get a referral to an allergist to start with. Allergies can cause reflux and recurrent illness particularly coughs. So that’s a good place to start to see if there is an underlying cause.
