Special insurance coverage for cyclists can be obtained in WA through various cycling groups. Some membership insurance policies such as that of Bicycling Western Australia, Bicycle Transport Alliance or Cycling WA, provide insurance coverage 24/7 to bike riders of all ages and abilities. The premium is included in the membership fee and is available to a range of bike riders from social bike riders, commuters and family groups to competitive cyclists. Other membership insurance policies like that of Triathlon WA, Australian Time Trials Association or West Coast Masters Cycling/Aust Veteran Cycling, may only cover members while riding during officially sanctioned races, training, meetings, fundraising activities and travel to and from these activities.
