Not all religions that were originally inspired by Christianity believe that Jesus was a God — not all are trinitarian — therefore, those who do believe in the three gods in one principal may not respect or acknowledge the existence or relevance of those that do not. That aside, Unitarian Universalism evolved from the Judeo-Christian theology but encourages ipeople to find their own way, to live a life dedicated to humanist values and spiritual search for their own truth. UU religous education includes studying the religious texts of multiple religions including the Talmud and what is termed “The New Testament,” but is not limited to those texts. The bible is not excluded from Unitarian Universalism, it is just not the ONLY resource for a search for spiritual fulfillment nor is it perceived as literal by most UUers. Most believe the bible is symbolic and that natural processes account for our origins. I know many UUers who also persue Zen Buddhist philosphies
