Is there a charge for services?

There is no charge for your initial visit or when you call in to speak to the Counselor-on-Call. The charge for individual sessions is $50. We want to make sure everyone who needs care receives it, so if you have financial concerns about paying for services, please let your counselor know during your initial visit and they can have you complete a sliding-scale fee application or can refer you to several low-fee clinics in the area.

It depends on the service we have arranged. Some services are free, others have a set charge and others are charged on a sliding scale, depending on your income. There is never a charge for a community care assessment. We will always give you information about any charges so that you know how much the services will cost before you use them.

The ten independent living programs for deaf and hard of hearing people in Massachusetts are funded through state contracts administered by MCDHH. There is no charge for participation. For more information, contact the DHILS program nearest to you.
