Is there a chance for someone who places but not necessarily very highly to get into Riverdance?

Dancing in competition is very different from dancing in Riverdance. Although placing well in competitions may show that a certain standard of dancing has been achieved it doesn´t necessarily mean that dancer is well suited for the show. This also means that there might be a dancer that is very well suited for the show, and the producers and directors think they will be great, but they might never have placed very well in competition. A good attitude and a nice stage presence is more valuable in the show than a trophy! Do they get homesick and how do they overcome this? I do miss my family and friends at home, of course, but we keep in close contact on the phone and by email. I know they are all very proud of me for doing what I do, and some of my best memories are when my family and friends have been able to come and watch me perform the show.
