Is there a chance Cisco network engineers will go out of demand?

That’s a good question, currently Cisco are the darling of the networking industry, and should stay there. However IT is probably the most fickle industry about, and as so, nobody can predict what will happen in the future. What i can say is that Cisco products are very good, many major companies globally have made major investments in their equipment and as such their longevity should be assured in the short to medium term. Don’t sweat it though, all companies use the same protocols as each other for their active equipment (some better than others) so even if you do go after the Cisco accreditation, you should be able to re-skill for another vendor relatively easily, because the concepts are the same. MY main concern if i was you is…. will their still be a shortage of SKILLED Cisco engineers in 2/3 years time? this will have a massive bearing on how much you can earn!
