Birds moult, mammals shed. 😉 I have two Bengal cats. The male shed uncontrollably year ’round, and the female only sheds profusely in the spring. We have altered our male’s diet, and altho the shedding is much less, his fur still flies. You can sometimes control shedding by giving a cat a diet that is high in suppliments and protein, however, this doesn’t always work and it may be just the way the individual cat is. Bengals *require* a high protein diet at all times. Perhaps the person we got him from did not feed him a very good diet, hence his terrible shedding problems… Despite what you may hear, there is NO SUCH THING as a hypoallergenic cat. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
