Is there a Boro Ordinance against excessive false alarm activations?
Yes. In an effort to avoid needless responses from the police, fire, or ambulance to false alarm calls, the Boro has instituted a penalty schedule. The Hillsdale Police Department responds and records every alarm activation called in by your monitoring company. A police officer (and/or other emergency services) is dispatched accordingly. + The first false alarm is a verbal warning. + The second false alarm is a written warning. + The third false alarm is a Boro Summons with a fine. Almost every false alarm is preventable. Proper maintenance of you alarm system is crucial. In addition, using you alarm system smartly, properly and effectively will avoid repeated false alarms.
