IS THERE A BIG SUPERMARKET OPEN IN CARCASSONNE ON A SUNDAY?
Frayed knot. All the really big supermarkets in Carcassonne are closed on a Sunday. Butcher shops and bakeries are generally open for business on a Sunday morning plus a few local “corner-shops”. There is terrific mini-market called “SUPERMARKET G20” which is open all day on a Sunday – it’s opposite the railway station in Carcassonne town-centre selling fresh fruit and vegetables and a huge selection of foodstuffs and well worth a visit if you need a few bits and pieces for Sunday lunch or afternoon tea.
