Is there a big difference choreographing dancers in the total buff to having costumes on?
Yes. We changed lots of little moves as we went along. It can be very distracting with too much movement down there. We changed a few steps that had our bits touching and sometimes hitting each other, which was unexpected, and a little titillating I might add. I was definitely feeling my age as I noticed there was an extra jiggle here and there. I was careful not to bend over and stretch right in front of anyone, somehow it just seemed the last frontier of rudeness! It must take a great deal of confidence – in one’s body, to be able to perform in the show where you’re starkers? Not everyone could do it, even good dancers with fit physiques. Well, confidence to a point, and then the rest is just courage and the belief that the experience and message is more important than my petty concerns about love handles. Part of the show is creating a space of acceptance of ourselves as who we are, for all our quirks and differences. There are no flaws except those things we believe to be flaws. I’
