is there a big difference between the standard and fire retardant versions?
Yes. The Fire Retardan t(FR) version bark is made from a different material all together. It isn’t a simple over coat that is applied after the bark is made. It is about 20% heavier and while it is still pliable enough to bend around a curved surface, it is a little more rigid than the standard version.
