Answer Hi Mike: The AMD and Pentium processors provide the same reliablility and performance. The 64 bit processor is designed for business applications in a networked environment on server type computers. There is not much software for personal use that is designed to use this type of processing. AMD or Pentium processors in the 2 to 3 gigahertz range are sufficient for home applications, using 32 bit processing.
