Is there a benefit to using a computer with RingCentral?
Although you can use your RingCentral servuce without it, there are certain features that require the use of a computer. These features are not essential to the basic telephony functions of the RingCentral services, but may be beneficial depending on your needs. Computer related features include: Send Fax, online account management (Call Log, Preferences, etc.), desktop software notification, and viewing/printing faxes. The computer is a great storage place for all your old voice messages and faxes. Whenever you are connected to the Internet and have your RingCentral desktop software running, you will be notified of incoming calls to your RingCentral number through the pop-up. When notified, the software will display the Caller ID of your caller and provide four call management options that include Accept Call, Reply, Ignore and Send to Voicemail.
