Is There A Bad Side To Good Cholesterol? Sunday September 9, 2007All of us have been told to strive to get that high density lipoprotein level, or HDL level, up as high as possible. However, now scientists have not found that there might be a bad side to HDL–one that can actually encourage heart disease. Scientsts looked at the HDL molecules in normal patients and patients with heart disease and discovered that the protein part on some of the HDL molecules may change over time, and may actually have the ability to cause heart disease.
