Each airline has its own policy for minors, but most of them require that someone age 13 to either travel with an adult or use the Unaccompanied Minor program: http://www.delta.com/planning_reservatio… There is no secret, magic website with the “cheapest” airfares. You have to do the research, and be as flexible as possible regarding travel dates. Check the travel sites (airgorilla, expedia, priceline, travelocity, etc.) and also check the airline websites. I have often (not always, but often) found the best fares on the airline websites. Remember to check airlines like JetBlue and Southwest that do not use the travel sites. Cheap tickets and first class don’t go together. You may be able to find something relatively cheap on Southwest Airlines as they are running a promotion of ticket prices as low as $49 each way. A 13 year can fly by themselves as there are minors who are younger traveling by themselves without parental guidance.
