A. No. This year’s competition has only 1 round of filmmaking Q. Can I satirize/spoof my genre? For example, if my genre is horror, would making a film that is satirical of the horror genre be fine? A. Yes. We want to stress that you can interpret your genre/subject assignment in creative ways. It does not have to be a typical horror film or typical drama. If you want to make it humorous or dramatic or even musical, go for it. BUT MAKE SURE it has elements of your genre and your story revolves around the subject you were assigned. Use your best judgement – if your film can’t be interpreted as the genre you were assigned, you might need to change something.
