Is their a venom in a young 8-cm long snake?
Not all snakes are venomous – there are more kinds of non-venomous snake than there are of venomous ones. So there’s a reasonable chance that the snake was a harmless one. If you can tell us where in the world you are (city and country only) maybe we can make a guess at what kind of snake it was and tell you whether it was likely to be a harmless baby or a venomous one. If you do not have any marks on your skin, and you feel healthy and fine in yourself, you may just want to talk to your doctor to be sure. If you can take a photograph of the snake with you to the doctor they may be able to tell you what it is and whether you need to be concerned or if you need treatment for a bite just in case. But a baby venomous snake hatches out with venom and venom glands and fangs – and although they don’t have as much venom as an adult, they have no control over the amount they give (they have to learn how to not waste it). So you cannot treat a baby venomous snake as less dangerous than an adult
