Is the written test a mandatory component of the examination process?
No. Some examinations don’t require a written test. However, for most entry-level positions and for many other positions within Alameda County, a written examination is used to test the technical knowledge required to perform the job satisfactorily. Some of the areas that may be covered on the written examination are listed on each examination announcement.
