No, the “Wiz” guy was Toby Huss, originally from Iowa. His only SNL connection is his work with former co-producer Steve Higgins on the old Comedy Central “Higgins Boys and Gruber” show. He was also in the “A Change Will Do You Good” Sheryl Crow video with Molly Shannon (SNL) (he played the doctor). The press release for the video said that he’d be in SNL’s ’97-’98 cast, but apparently that didn’t happen.
