Is the WII the best video game system? What about the others?
If you aren’t a serious gamer the Wii may be the best bet for you. It has a lot of simple, fun games and a lot of multiplayer games that are fun to play with a few people. The other two systems available would be the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360. They are both a couple hundred dollars more expensive than the Wii and use the more traditional controllers rather than the radically new “WiiMote” and nunchuk that the Wii uses. The Xbox 360 has been out a year longer than the Wii and PS3, so it has a large selection of high-quality games available. A lot of the 360 games are first-person shooters like Halo. There are plenty of games available in all of the other genres as well though. The 360 has much better graphics than the Wii, and supports HDTVs up to the full 1080p resolution. The 360 also has media center functionality built-in.
