Is the WI-UPC Scoring Instrument a screening instrument or an assessment instrument?
It is neither. WI-UPC is a scorable placement determination instrument. Although a substance use disorder and possibly a withdrawal screen must be conducted in order to obtain the information necessary to score the placement instrument, it should not be considered a screen in and of itself.
