Is the Western Rock Lobster Fishery Sustainable?
Yes. The Fishery was the first in the world to be certified by the Marine Stewardship Council as being an environmentally sustainable fishery. The fishery is carefully monitored to ensure there is adequate breeding stock to maintain the fishery at a level that allows lobster to be harvested without causing a decline in the number of animals left to produce the next generation.
