Is the website set up to not allow personal email addresses?
In the online application process, we do request an email address as an effective way of corresponding with applicants. We don’t distinguish between a personal or work email address; we simply need an email address to be able to best correspond with the applicant on initial matters. It is up to the applicant to decide which email is appropriate. The information obtained through the online application will not be shared outside the company without the consent of the applicant (for example, for a background and/or reference check). Further, only IHG recruiters have access to this information. The only emails that the applicant would receive would be a confirmation of the application, communications related to the position applied for, and alerts about newly available positions that match requested criteria.
