It is a lottery when it comes to UK weather, but generally yes it is better and a little bit lighter.

Actually visited London both times and it really is about the same. It may be a bit cooler in October but not really that much. In fact when we visited in October 2004 it was extremely sunny and fairly warm. We had our thick coats and didn’t need them.

Yes the weather should be better for Sept rather than Oct but with the wacky weather…..roll the dice cuz’ thats what the weather people do!
